1960's Bürk Factory Clock

CHF 400.00
Only 1 available

A very rare home decor item with a simple timeless design.

This pretty daughter clock was produced by Bürk at their factory in Villingen Schwenningen within the Black Forest, Germany. She’s approximately 60yrs old and will have likely spent her early years in either a factory or a train station, working in unison with her sisters providing accurate time for the workers.

The internal clock mechanism is the Bürk original. Watch the video of us modernising a clock with a radio receiver. The new internet connectivity board that we made is much more compact and is simply placed on the back of the clock. An example photo (different clock back) is shown.

The clock is powered entirely by a single USB cable (included). There is no need to attach it to a computer.

  • In 1900 Bürk, with the US watch manufacturer Bundy founded the International Time Recording Co (ITR) Which later merged to become the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM)

  • Production started in the 1920s of electrical master and daughter clocks

  • Bürk became a subsidiary of the Swiss Watch company Mobatime in 1997

  • The Bürk factory in the Black Forest was later turned into a museum which you can visit if you like :)
